Functional Components
Increasing functionality in modern vehicle construction will result in ever-smaller installation spaces that require entirely new solutions. By integrating a decentralised distribution box into the air-conditioning concept, the air can initially be conveyed in a single air duct with a large cross-section on its journey from the air-conditioning unit to the distribution box. The distribution box then takes on the task of routing the conditioned air to the various branches of the ventilation system. In terms of the overall function of the air-conditioning process, the air intake housing upstream from the air-conditioning system represents an important component with regard to air flow rate, water separation, and filtration.
